James River Band

Erica graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in English and a Masters in Teaching.  She now teaches English at James River High School to 9th and 10th Grade students.

During Erica's high school years, she marched four fall colorguard seasons and three winterguard seasons.  While she was at JMU, Erica had the pleasure of being a part of the Marching Royal Dukes Colorguard for four consecutive seasons and served as a captain for one of the seasons. During the winterguard seasons, she marched with JMU Nuance for two years.  Her biggest achievement is marching with First Flight World Winterguard based out of Raleigh, NC for four seasons.  First Flight World gave her the opportunity to perform in front of thousands of people in World Class Finals at the Winter Guard International Championships in Dayton, OH for over two years.

Ms. Villacrusis also taught at JMU's Summer Band Camp in 2009.  Other colorguard teaching opportunities include helping at Riverbend High School during band camp.  Erica also started a colorguard program and taught technique through band camp at East Rockingham High School.  She has made appearances as a technician for James Madison University's Fall and Winter Programs, James Madison High School's Winter Program, Harrisonburg High School's Fall Program, and Broadway High School's Fall Program.  Ms. Villacrusis also helped choreograph movement for Colonial Heights High School Winterguard.  Erica was also on the colorguard staff as a technician at Powhatan High School for both the colorguard and winterguard programs.  Now, she is excited to be a part of the JRHS Marching Band Staff and is looking forward to the upcoming season!
